Hello December....

November was over in a flash - hello December!

I'm surrounded by mountains of wool and dreaming about putting the Christmas decorations up at the weekend - I LOVE this time of year! I've been enjoying browsing Pinterest for festive ideas and cannot wait to get immersed in the holiday sprit!

The Sock Project – Part 2

Here is a little update on the sock project. Sock one, done.

Sock 2 a work in progress. I’m making these in snatched moments, so they are taking a rather a long time, and cannot tell you how excited I was about turning the heel on my first ever sock. I found this really simple free sock pattern here. It is very easy to understand and I am really pleased with the results. I think I may have found my new favourite thing. I’m going to make some for the children next, but I must hurry before the weather warms up.

Happy Days xx

The Sock Project

I have always wanted to try making a pair of socks. I don't have much patience (time), so I like the type of project that has a quick result, so I don't loose interest! This is why big super chunky wool is my friend. However, this year I really want to accomplish a number of things that I have always thought I'd like to do. One of these things is socks. I bought this gorgeous pattern for cable knitted socks from the lovely Yiskah Knits. It is beautiful and as soon as I have mastered a plain pair I can't wait to make Jessica's fun pattern. I wanted to share the beginnings here:

I'll keep you posted on the progress...
